Ciel II

Pied à Terre

Here is a place
Tight allyways
Uneven pavement
Place de Clichy
Where I drink too much
And eat well with my lover
And stay lean as a cat
Through a cold grey winter
He buys me boxes
Of chocolates and perfume
And I love
It when he leaves to see
His ex-wife
I play music
Paint my toes
And shop for scarves, books and bangles to give away
From venders on the Boulavard and eat pepper steak
Very rare sipping Greek coffee
The borders are very blurred
We mixed our languages
He contorts my body to see my face in bed
We laughed and glared at each other
He says he hates me for the way I make him feel
And I too loathed it
Wanting a clean break
We are in love and hate it
