Sorrel (Hibiscus)

2 cups dried hybiscus

2 cups sugar

1  cinamon stick

6 whole cloves

5 slices peeled fresh ginger

2 quarts water

seltzer water

 

Red Rum if you desire, your choice. 

 

What to do:

 

Put it all in a non aluminum pot. Bring it to a boil then turn down and simmer very low for 20 minutes covered.  – Set it all aside as is  for 2-3 days then press/strain in usual manner and serve chilled with seltzer water or rum if you like.
