It’s been 10 days since I began Sheltering in Place. About 5 days or so before it became an order from the governor. It’s all pretty new for everyone, the idea that we could die or bring death to another if we fail to #juststayhome
Today I started the recommended disinfect-the-home-daily-with-bleach. Kinda hard to do in an old redwood cabin built in 1912, old country homes are always harder to keep clean. I keep it pretty tidy here (Virgo tendencies) and always have the counter sprays and home made vinegar and essential oil spray. Well that just won’t do any longer. #Covid19 is trying to kill us so we must be extra diligent.
Recipe to disinfect while in the midst of a pandemic:
3 teaspoons of bleach
1 quart of hot water
Method:
-
Put on your whites. (White clothes) and apron.
-
Wash any dirt and muck off with soap and water.
-
Make your bleach mixture and wipe down all surfaces especially areas with a lot of hand traffic. Knobs, light switches, faucets, toilet area, coffee pot, microwave, fridge door, shower door.
Pro tip: Change out the hand towels daily. Better yet, give each person their own hand towel with their initial embroidered in it.
