Holy Mother Bored at the Formica Table
Is it Valentine or Mardi Gras?
Bless me in my corset, handfuls
Of candy hearts, my darkened lips, I have baked all day
My hair a flaming red, -too much henna, bless me
And My Valentine who will not notice this
With his Vetiver and Oakmoss Skin, handful of roses
The house is dressed in petite fours and lace
My masks are adorned very beautiful
Bless our sisters this day, bless our feet
Each toe perfectly painted
They are our rosary beads and one of the secret ways
We praise each child we have birthed and carried upon our backs
Our truest Valentines, bless them
Holy Mother Bored at the Formica Table
Bless us this Holy Day
We praise you and love your red dress
